To All Members of the Class of 2025
We will be gathering together at the Expo Center at Memorial Coliseum on June 8th to celebrate your graduation from high school.
I know that there have already been times this year that you have taken a moment to reflect on where this educational journey has taken you and your classmates. You are likely to also have found yourself thinking about the plans you and other members of the Class of 2025 have shared with each other, as each day brings all of you closer to those dreams becoming a reality.
If you would like the opportunity to express those thoughts on the stage at graduation, please click on the link below to explore the possibility of becoming part of the graduation ceremony.
Two members of the Class of 2025 will be selected to speak at graduation. One senior will give what is called the Farewell Speech. The focus of this speech is to look back at the shared experiences you and your classmates have had since your first day of kindergarten. It is a "where we have been" speech. The second senior will give the Anticipation Speech. This will address the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead after graduation. It is a "where we are going" speech.
Students can be nominated to speak by a teacher, a classmate, or can you self-nominate, by turning in the required materials by the specified deadline.
All students who wish to be considered must complete each of the application steps, provide all of the required documents, submit a written draft of the speech and provide a correctly shared Google link to a video recording of you giving your speech. The committee will review your packet and these recordings prior to making their selection.
All of the required items must be submitted to Mrs. Summers by 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2025.
Late and incomplete applications will not be accepted under any circumstances, so plan to file your application early, to avoid any issues.
Seniors in previous years have done an amazing job closing the high school experience for their friends and classmates with fond memories, thoughtful reflection, and inspiring words.
We look forward to receiving many outstanding applications.
If you have any questions after reading through the directions, please let me know.
