Black History Month - Create Our Playlists
Black History Month x The Point 91FM
Homestead's radio station, The Point 91.1 FM, will be celebrating Black History Month throughout February!
Each evening, starting at 7 PM, The Point 91.1 FM will take a break from regular programming to feature a playlist of songs from Black musicians.
You, the students of Homestead High School, will choose the songs!
Before submitting your favorite tracks, keep in mind the following guidelines:
Audience-Friendly: Imagine a broad audience could be listening, including your family members. Would you play this song for your grandmother?
-
Content Guidelines:
- No songs with explicit language, violence, or offensive themes (e.g., drugs, alcohol, or disrespect).
- Make sure the lyrics are appropriate for all listeners.
-
FCC (Federal Government Commission) Guidelines:
- Songs must be free of curse words. We don’t have time to edit over 100 songs this month, so make sure your song is clean before you submit it.
- If you wouldn’t say a word to a teacher without getting in trouble, don’t submit it.
- Don’t assume there’s a clean version of the song available.
Song Length: Most songs should be under 7 minutes long.
Once you’ve submitted your songs, be sure to tune in every night at 7 PM to hear your picks! You can listen live at 91.1 FM or by using this link: www.wcyt.org
