Spartans in Washington D.C.

A group of Homestead students are in Washington D.C. this weekend. Yesterday the Spartans toured the Smithsonian Museum and posed for a picture on the Tidal Basin, across from the Jefferson Memorial.

While visiting the Korean War Veterans Memorial, the students had the opportunity to meet Mayor Yoo Jeong-bok from Incheon, South Korea, at a wreath laying ceremony he held to thank the American men and women for the sacrifices they made to preserve democracy in South Korea.

UPDATE: Homestead students who are on the road to Washington D.C. got to watch the inauguration from the comfort of a heated space... and then visited the United States Marine Corps War Memorial. They also went to Arlington National Cemetery and had the opportunity to view the sacred changing of the guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
