Spartan Students and Families,

As we begin a new school year, we’re excited to share updated parking and traffic patterns in and around Homestead High School. These changes are designed to improve safety, enhance traffic flow, increase parking efficiency, and provide better access to our campus.

New this year: we’re pleased to expand our parking availability to include parking spaces for sophomore drivers.

While permanent signage will be installed soon, it may not be in place before the first day of school. For that reason, we strongly encourage all students and families to review the information below and carefully study the attached map to familiarize yourselves with the new layout before arriving on campus.

To ensure a smooth and safe start to the school year, it’s essential that all students and parents follow the updated parking guidelines and campus travel routes.
 
Student Parking Options - Student Lots A, B, C

Student Lot A is the immediate lot off Aboite Center Road, just inside HHS’ campus entrance (Lot A sits north of Lot B ).
Student Lot B is located immediately outside Door #1 and is formerly the bus lot.
Student Lot C is the lot located just outside the Environmental Center at the south end of the football stadium.

• To access lots, enter from either Aboite Center Road or Homestead Road.
• If entering from Homestead Road, use Indian Meadows Drive to wrap behind the stadium to reach lots A and B.
• Please note: This is a two-way road, and all drivers must adhere to the 15 mph campus speed limit.

Other Parking Areas

• Bus Lot - Striped for buses, this lot adjacent to Lot B is for buses only.
• Lot D – Staff Parking Only: This lot, formerly the student lot, is now reserved for staff use only.
• Lot E – Visitors and Substitute Teachers Only: This lot is designated for school visitors and substitute teachers only.

Important Reminders

• Student Entry: All students will now enter the building through Door #1. Door #33 and #45 will no longer be accessible to students.
• Always use sidewalks – ALWAYS.
• Campus Speed Limit: 15 mph is the speed limit and should be adhered to for everyone’s safety.
• Parking Permits ARE Required: All students who drive and park on campus must have a valid parking permit. Permits can be obtained from the Discipline Office.

 
Student Drop Off and Pick Up Route

• Drivers may now enter and exit campus via both Aboite Center Road and Homestead Road to reach the designated drop-off/pick-up area (same as last year).

 

• All drivers must pull forward around the circle to the farthest possible point before stopping. Students should exit vehicles on the passenger side only and use the sidewalk to enter the building through Door #1.
   ➤ Important: Door #45 is no longer an entry point for students.

 

• Please note: The entrance off Homestead Road that is controlled by a stoplight is not a designated drop-off or pick-up location. For everyone’s safety, drivers must follow the approved route outlined on the attached map.

 
We are truly excited to open these new lots and travel routes for our staff, students, and families. We believe these improvements will help alleviate congestion, provide ample parking and, most importantly, enhance safety across campus.

As with any change, we ask for your patience, grace, and kindness—especially during the first few weeks as thousands of individuals navigate these updates for the first time.
