Ten Homestead students recently competed at the Indiana Junior Classical League State Convention at Indiana University in Bloomington. Students participated in academic tests, graphics arts, and creative arts. 

We are proud to announce that our Spartans brought home 95 individual awards and four chapter awards! 

Homestead won 1st place in the Sweepstakes Competition for small schools. 

Brishti Ahikari, Arabella Marqueling, Katie Shannon, Ella Smith, Annabelle Thurman and Hannah Zandarski all earned at least one 1st place individual award. 

Brishti also received a Creative Arts individual achievement award for being in the top five overall for that category. 

Two Spartans were elected to state office for the 2025-2026 school year – Brishti Adhikari will serve as Second Vice President and Sophia Hill will serve as Editor. 

Ella Smith received the Elizabeth Love Memorial Scholarship.

Hannah Zandarski received the Eileen Johnson Memorial Scholarship and gave closing remarks during one of the general assemblies.
