White House Announces their 2024 National Presidential Scholars Candidates - 5 Spartans Chosen!
The White House Commission on Presidential Scholars and the United States Department of Education have selected 5 Homestead students as candidates for the United States Presidential Scholars Program. These Spartans were chosen for outstanding performance on the ACT Assessment or the College Board SAT. The Scholars program was established in 1964 by President Lyndon Johnson to recognize the accomplishments of some of our nation's most distinguished graduating seniors. These Homestead students now go on to a final round of evaluation, from which up to 161 scholars will be chosen as Presidential Scholars based on leadership, service to school and community, and demonstrated exceptional scholarship and/or artistic or performing arts talents. Congratulations and Best of Luck to Sophia Topmiller, Adisyn Nichols, Elisa Chen, Layla Kelly, and Lily Rassette.
