Scholastic Gold Key Writing Competition Winners

Posted Date: 01/24/2024

Congratulations to Isabella Ambrose, Grace Hensley, Wilson Macie, Lily Tilby, Rowan Walsh, and Senna Waterval. These creative Spartans recently were awarded Gold Keys in the prestigious Scholastic Writing Competition.

In the Northeast Indiana and Northwest Ohio region, 841 works of writing were submitted, and these Homestead students were honored with Gold Keys, the highest award.

Their work will be featured at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art 2024 Scholastic Art & Writing Awards exhibition, which will open on February 10th and runs through April 7th.

The students whose work is awarded at the regional level are eligible to compete for national awards.

Past National Scholastic Writing Award winners include the work of many celebrated American artists and writers who were recognized when they were in high school, such as Richard Avedon, Andy Warhol, Bernard Malamud, Robert Redford, Sylvia Plath, Joyce Carol Oates, Luis Jimenez, and Truman Capote, among others.

We are so proud of these Homestead prize-winning authors, journalists, and poets, and wish them the best of luck as their work moves on to the national level.
