Dear SACS Families,

On behalf of Southwest Allen County Schools, I am proud to announce Adam Swinford has been named the next Principal of Homestead High School beginning July 1, pending board approval later this month.

Following Ms. Summers’ announcement of her retirement, effective June 30th, we undertook a comprehensive and thoughtful search process, which included committee-based interviews and extensive deliberation. After careful consideration, we are pleased to share that Mr. Swinford has been selected as the new leader of our high school.

Swinford is a seasoned educator with over 25 years of experience and is a proven leader with a deep commitment to student success, staff collaboration, and community engagement. His passion for education, focus on building strong relationships, and unwavering dedication to excellence make him the perfect fit for Homestead High School. I have no doubt he will continue to foster a culture where all students and staff feel valued, supported, and inspired to achieve their best.

Swinford holds a Bachelor of Science from University of Saint Francis and a Master of Science from Indiana University. His extensive background in education, combined with his passion for creating positive school cultures, makes him a natural fit for this role. Swinford’s appointment will be recommended for approval at the upcoming board meeting on April 15th.

Sincerely,
Kent DeKoninck, Ph.D., Superintendent
Southwest Allen County Schools
