Speech and Debate Team


Members participate in various events such as radio broadcasting, congress, Public Forum Debate, Lincoln-Douglas Debate, discussion, impromptu speaking, extemporaneous speaking, humorous/dramatic interpretation (acting events), prose/poetry interpretation (reading events), duo interpretation, Progam Oral Interpretation, original performance, original oratory, and informative speaking. Students develop skills in teamwork, leadership, interpersonal communication, logic, analysis, evaluation, problem solving, and persuasion, as well as gain confidence in public speaking.

Eligibility Requirements:

Open to all students

Time Commitment:

Meetings are once a week. Individuals practice as needed. Saturday meets are scheduled periodically throughout the season.

Procedure for Joining:

Students wishing to join may sign up with a sponsor. There is an introductory meeting in September.
