Key Club

Key Club is the largest service organization for high school students in the world. Young men and women Key Club members work together as a team to fulfill the needs of their school and community through volunteer service. As Key Club members, they can achieve the satisfaction that comes from contributing in a worthwhile manner, enjoy good fellowship, and have a great deal of fun. Key Club is the youth branch of Kiwanis International. The club offers service opportunities such as staffing area fund-raising walks/runs, tutoring younger students, recycling, and assisting at elementary school events. Some local organizations that we closely work with include: MDA, Super Shots, the YMCA, and Relay for Life.

Eligibility Requirements:

Any student interested in providing service for their school and community is encouraged to join Homestead’s Key Club. We have members from every grade level, making it a great first place to become involved in an extracurricular activity.

Time Commitment:

Members in good standing must volunteer a total of fifty hours, twenty five of which must be at a club sponsored events. New service opportunities are offered each week at Key Club meetings, which are held each Thursday after school in the Community Room.

Procedure for Joining:

There is an opportunity to sign up prior to the beginning of school. Look for our Key Club booth in the hallway outside of the cafeteria on registration day. Students may also sign up at any of the club’s meetings during the first month of school. To become a member, students and parents must sign the club permission slip and pay the annual dues of approximately $25.00. These dues include the price of the club t-shirt, that must be worn when volunteering.
