E-Kart Club

Description:

Students work together as a team to build and modify an electric go-kart to compete in the Purdue EvGrandPrix Race at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.  The team is comprised of a driver, pit crew, CAD design team, and business marketing positions. This unique experience is modeled after an actual professional race team.

Eligibility:

Any Homestead High School student

Time Commitment:

Students are expected to attend group meetings and attend two official kart practices as well as the final race day in Indianapolis.

Procedure for Joining:

Attend an initial "call out" meeting in the fall after school when announced.  If interested, students will pay official dues to secure membership. Dues are used to pay for the group's transportation and competition fees. 

Activity Period:

October - May

Membership limit:

None. However, if you are not a member in good standing and do not attend meetings and work sessions regularly you might not be invited to attend official practices and race.
