Summer Practice Schedule

Dear Athletes and Parents/Guardians of the 2020 Boys’ Basketball Team:

Just a few reminders and updates as we move closer to our first meeting date on Monday, July 6 from 8:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M. in the main gym.

Open Gym Dates and Time: 
July 6, 8, 13, 15, 20, 22, 27, 29
from 8:00 A.M. to 10:00 A.M.
in the main gym. 

1.  In order to be in compliance with the IHSAA, participate and remain for practice on July 6 and thereafter, student-athletes MUST have the following documents turned in with appropriate signatures and insurance information, including the insurance policy number:

If athletes are turning in forms electronically, PLEASE create one attachment with ALL required documents.

Athletes with any missing signatures, insurance information, or forms will not be allowed to stay for practice.

     

2.  Phase 1 – Return to Play – July 6 through July 19 – we will adhere to the following guidelines:

A.  Any athlete or coach experiencing symptoms will be excluded from practice/events and should remain at home.

  • Symptoms:Fever, cough, shortness of breath, trouble breathing, persistent pain or pressure in the chest, fatigue, body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea, new confusion or inability to be woken, bluish lips or face.

B.  Any athlete or coach sent home will need to be cleared by a family physician, in writing, before being allowed to return.

C.  Athletes and coaches will be trained by OPS trainers on how to appropriately social distance, how to use cleaners and disinfectants, and how to appropriately wash hands.  This will be     done on our first day of meetings.

D.  Practice Expectations Through Phase 1 – Athlete Responsibility

                Self-monitor for symptoms – experiencing symptoms – DO NOT ATTEND

                Check in for screening questions & attendance

                No locker room use during this period

                Athletes must provide their own water bottle with name clearly printed on the bottle.

                Athletes are to leave the facility immediately after practice sessions.

                Social distancing is required, small groups of no more than 10 athletes.

                Shirts must remain on during practice.
